Peace Messengers Training

The EU Youth in Action funded training course “Voluntary approach towards a culture of Peace” took place in Budapest, Hungary from the 16th-22nd May, with SCI branch Útilapu Hungary. The training was organised by a prep team made up of Karine, Jenny, Sonja, and Bogi from Hungary, France, and Austria. This week long training course involved 19 participants from different European countries. Its aim was to increase knowledge of youth workers in peace education and cultural diversity in order to be able to apply their newly acquired knowledge in different SCI international voluntary projects, and thus contribute to the building of intercultural understanding and peace The training showed in practice how to prepare, organise and lead sessions and peace education workshops in international workcamps, schools and other SCI projects. Through different workshops and training sessions, the course went through topics such as volunteerism, migration, minorities, discrimination and exclusion, racism, intercultural learning, peace, human rights, European borders, and finally Peace Messengers on SCI projects.
