About the Space for Peace campaign
SPACE FOR PEACE was a campaign run by SCI-International Secretariat. It was aimed to:
- provide peace education resources
- facilitate contact among activists
The first step was "Making Space For Peace" seminar (October 2003, Holland).
The second step was the SPACE FOR PEACE Resource Pack, the place where after months of research and creative work, information on peace education topics - Human Rights, Discrimination and Racism could come together in one package for trainers. The pack profiled some essential steps to be taken towards a better integration of PEACE within SCI activities. You can download it here.
The third step (ensued just days after we took the fresh SPACE for PEACE resource packs from under the printing press) ... was the Education for Peace Multiplers Training (11-16 May 2004, Busteni, Romania). Peace education was the focus of the training and the SPACE for PEACE resource pack was used for the first time in workshops.
The fourth step was a "working website". Its purpose is to help bring together all that was done in this campaign, and beyond. From proposed projects to downloadable educational materials (old & new), forums on study parts, workshops, workcamps, to Peace Education Network News.
We want to thank to all those who helped us along the way and to invite everybody to help us further by spreading the ideas of the SPACE for PEACE campaign by using its practical results.
