Funding for Peace Education Seminar in Poland, 2007 is approved

Over the years, whilst developing and implementing the peace education aspects of the strategic plan, different branches of SCI have developed many different peace education skills. Now it is time to systematically gather and spread the acquired skills for the whole movement for general use in all voluntary projects. We will invite 30 youth leaders of national organisations which are organising international voluntary service activities to a multipliers training on how to increase the quality and quantity of peace education in workcamps. These trainers will, once back home, pass their knowledge on to other youth leaders in their home country. The training will be mainly based on raising awareness of peace issues and how this can be transferred to other young leaders. The teaching aids and a methodology for their effective use in their home countries will be introduced. The activities will mainly be carrie dout in an interactive way. The following techniques and methods will be used: games, theoretical models, role plays, simulations, case-studies, workshops, working groups, plenary discussions etc. The participants will have the chance to lead small workshops and in that way try themselves out as trainers and get feedback on that. These interactive methods are crucial pillars of the project.
