PVP Follow Up

PVP prep team and strategic co-ordinators meet in Poznan

Dear friends of SCI all over the world,

After the successful PVP seminar in Bulgaria in November 2006, last month in Poznan, Poland was the follow up meeting. It was great to see eachother again and to remember the nice moments we spent in Bulgaria.

We discussed the outcome of thes of the seminar and also about the other two events that will be organised this year; PVP camp leaders training (3 - 9th April) in Germnay by VCV and SCI D and the Peace Education seminar to be organised by OWA at the end of th year.

We also discussed how we are going to work from now on, who of the prep team members will still be able to stay actively involved in the work of promoting the Pacifist Voluntary Projects. As well, we could see in the workcamp programme that this year, in comparison with the last years there are more camps labelled as PVP, and more than this, there are projects that fulfill the criteria without being named as such. This shows that more people within SCI are aware of the importance of promoting the peaceful objectives of the work we do.

Other topics we discussed were:

     - The update of the Space for Peace website (Morgana and Thomas are working on it and doing a great job!)

     - Contacting the branches and creating a simple method to evaluate the PVP camps (Diki)

     - Announcing the PVP Awards which will bve decided during the Peace Education Seminar in Poland

     - Contacting PVP Seminar participants and finding out how they have fulfilled their action plans developed at the seminar.

Amities,

Diki Gyurova (PVP Coordinator)
