European Day of Action to Ban Nuclear Weapons

It will be exactly one month before agreements will be made (from 3rd of May) on the NPT Review Conference in New York, for the further execution of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, the treaty that has to halt the proliferation of nuclear weapons of nuclear weapons and in which nuclear weapons-states promised to disarm. However Rasmussen, secretary-general of the NATO, recently announced that the NATO will keep holding to the possible use of nuclear weapons!

In Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France, UK, Italy and Turkey there will be actions at military bases (blockades, clean-up action, civil inspection) to protest against the presence of nuclear weapons on those bases.

No-More-War Camp Coordinators training, Wustrow, Germany

Especially meant for activists who are going to co-ordinate a no-more-war camp or another camp with a specific (extra) focus on peace. Besides emphasis on running a study part on anti-militarism and non-violence, there will be elements of media and theatre training.

Planned No-More-War Camps and Actions

All camps will have an extra special study part focusing on issues of peace (peace movement, non-violence, disarmament, social justice, human rights violations etc.) and together will make a united, worldwide "No more war!" action of SCI branches & partners in the 90th centenary year of international voluntary service.
